Privacy Policy
DEFRAGGER.IO ("the game", "we") is an independent browser game operated by Kyle Bigart. This page explains what the game stores about you and how to have it removed. The short version: we keep the minimum needed to let you sign in and keep your save, we don't sell anything about you, and you can ask for it all to be deleted at any time.
What we collect
If you never sign in
- Your save, in your own browser. Progress is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device unless you sign in.
- Aggregate traffic analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individual visitors or build profiles. It tells us things like how many people visited and which pages were slow.
- Standard server logs. Cloudflare, which hosts the game, processes your IP address and request details to serve the site and to block abuse (for example its bot protection). We don't keep separate copies of these logs.
If you sign in
- Your email address and a Google account identifier when you use "Continue with Google". We request only the
openidandemailscopes — we do not receive your contacts, files, calendar or anything else from Google. - Your game save (grid, upgrades, statistics, settings) so it can follow you between devices.
- A session cookie (
dfg_session) that keeps you signed in for 30 days, and a short-lived cookie (dfg_gstate) used only during the Google sign-in handshake. Both are strictly necessary for signing in; there are no advertising or tracking cookies set by us. - Whether you've purchased the Pro upgrade, once that exists. Payment itself will be handled by a payment processor; we will not see or store your card details.
What we do with it
Only run the game: authenticate you, store and restore your save, and keep the service working and abuse-free. We do not sell personal data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising profiles. If the game shows advertisements in future, the ad provider will be named here before that happens, along with what they collect.
Where it lives
Everything is hosted on Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc.). Sign-in is provided by Google. Each of them processes data under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Your account and save stay until you delete them. Sessions expire after 30 days of not being used. Analytics are aggregate and not tied to you.
Your choices
- Play without an account. Everything up to the first prestige works with no sign-in and nothing stored on our side.
- Sign out from the account button in the game; this ends the session on that device.
- Delete everything. Using the in-game Hard Reset while signed in wipes your cloud save. To delete the account itself (email and sign-in record), email support@defragger.io from the address you signed in with and we'll remove it within 30 days.
- Ask what we hold. Same address; we'll send you a copy.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters (for example, if ads or payments are added), the date at the top changes and the game will point it out. Continuing to use the game after that means you accept the updated policy.
